MJI WA MATARAJIO

Expanding our exploration of set texts, we’ll also be presenting grade 7 class reader Mji wa Matarajio, a compelling Kiswahili text that captures the dreams, struggles, and aspirations of individuals in a rapidly changing society.

The story vividly portrays the journey of characters in pursuit of better opportunities, highlighting the realities they face and the choices they must make along the way. Our team will livestream this class reader on July 17th, 2026 from Green Atriums (Zetech University).

As learners engage with the class reader, they will deepen their understanding of language and expression while also developing essential Competency Based Education (CBE) skills. The text promotes critical thinking as learners analyze the characters’ decisions, enhances communication skills through discussions and interpretation, and nurtures creativity as they connect the story to real-life experiences. It also instills important values such as resilience, responsibility, and determination in the face of challenges.

In addition, the session will place special emphasis on key stylistic elements used in the book including the use of language, symbolism, and characterization, helping learners to better interpret and appreciate the depth of the text. Our facilitators will guide learners in breaking down complex sections of the story, making it easier to understand plot development and thematic connections while also preparing them effectively for classroom discussions and examinations.

The program will be conducted entirely online, and participants will be required to obtain an official access card to join the livestream through the Vission Footprints Limited platform.
